What To Wear

For men, appropriate attire includes slacks and a polo or button-down shirt. For women, nice slacks, Capri pants or a dress is recommended. Although allowed, collarless t-shirts, jeans, shorts and sneakers are discouraged.

COVID-19 Safety

For this experience, our partners are taking extra measures to prevent any potential spread of COVID-19. In those jurisdictions where it is required, all guests over the age of 18 are required to provide their full name and email address prior to boarding the vessels. Guests who self-report they are experiencing any symptoms indicative of COVID-19 will not be permitted to board our partner's vessel. All guests ages 3 and older are required to wear face coverings at all times while on board our vessels, except while dining, unless exempted by the local health authority. Our partners request that each guest face mask fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the guest to remain hands-free. They also require that the mask fit snugly against the side of the face, be secured with ties or ear loops, and be made of breathable material. Guests who do not have a face mask will not be permitted to board the vessel. If you have travelled internationally in the last 14 days, the CDC advises that you should stay at home and avoid contact with others. Additionally in those jurisdictions where it is required, guests will undergo temperature screening prior to boarding. Based on guidance from health authorities, anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above will not be allowed entry; those in their party will not be allowed entry either. These Covid-19 safety measures are subject to change.

What is the dress code?

For evening cruises, appropriate attire is business casual to dressy. Men traditionally wear slacks and a shirt, with or without ties. Women wear dresses or nice pants. T-shirts, jeans, shorts or sneakers are not recommended.

Are there any age requirements?

Children are welcome on the cruise and children under 3 years old cruise free. Please inform Virgin Experience Gifts at the time of booking if you will be bringing additional guests under 3, so seating can be arranged.

Where does the cruise go?

The ship departs Penn's Landing and sails down the Delaware River as far north as the Ben Franklin Bridge and as far south as the old Navy Yard passing under the Walt Whitman Bridge.

What type of entertainment is offered?

Is the ship handicap accessible?

Yes, the ship can accommodate wheelchairs for boarding and provides a handicap-accessible restroom. Please notify Virgin Experience Gifts of any special-assistance members in your party prior to the cruise so we can provide the appropriate assistance upon arrival.

Is there parking close to the ship?

Yes, there is a parking lot on Columbus Boulevard at Lombard Circle, operated by Penn's Landing Corporation. Parking fees vary by the day of the week.

How is seating arranged on board?

The ship features cabaret-style seating. The majority of the tables accommodate four to eight people and guests are sometimes seated with other parties.

Can you tell me about the ship?

The ship is spaciously designed with three climate-controlled interior decks, strolling decks at the bow and stern, and a large outdoor patio deck. It is handicap accessible and Coast Guard approved for up to 500 passengers. Amenities include full-service bars, two dance floors, spacious bathrooms, flexible seating arrangements and huge, panoramic windows.

Do you sail in inclement weather?

Absolutely, the ship is fully enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort. It sails rain or shine, year- round.

A beautiful cruise along the Delaware! The buffet was good, our server was great. The outside seating was wonderful. They had some decks closed off so it wasn't too crowded. It would have been nice to have table service instead of buffet and to have a drink included in the ticket price

Food was fine but atmosphere inside rather loud. We had the worst table on the lower deck: the buffet line was snaked all around our table while we were trying to have a romantic night for two, which made for a very awkward dinner-time experience. The view from the outside upper deck was amazing, and we ended up spending most of our time looking at the skyline from there. Once we found out this wonderful spot we had a great rest of our evening, and didn't bother anymore with our terrible table.

Was a gorgeous summer night in Philly and celebrating my gf's 50th. Food was excellent, views from the boat were phenomenal, staff was friendly and courteous, cabin temps were perfect and the music and dancing was an excellent compliment to what already seemed like a perfect venue in celebration.

Our first time, did not know what to expect since this was also a gift to us. The entire trip from booking to getting off the ship was excellent. Food was good, friendly service, good drinks and music. We certainly will do again in the future with friends.

My wife and I had a great time. When I booked the tickets, I had made some food requests for my wife, stating that she reacts to certain foods and would prefer organic food if at all possible. A representative from the Spirit of Philadelphia called me for more details and said that they normally do not have organic food on board but he would talk with the kitchen chef. When dinner began I helped myself to the wonderful food provided at the buffet and they brought out a separately prepared dish for my wife. She was blown away at the service we were given, and we couldn't have been happier with the staff. It was a great experience and would highly recommend this for future customers.

I would not recommend Spirit of Philadelphia Dinner Cruise. The food was awful. The pasta was dry and bland and the salad was practically gone by the time our table was called. There were cob webs around the dividers of the buffet. When going up for a second time, the food was already being put away and not replenished. The rolls and butter were gone. The outside of the boat was dirty and rusty. It does not look like any daily or weekly upkeep is being done. The staff was friendly and hospitable. The cruise took off within 10 minutes of the scheduled time and returned approx. on schedule. It was a one and done experience for my husband and I.

I WAS ON THE SPIRIT ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO AND LOVED THE FLOOR SHOW THE WAITERS HAD DONE. THE FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NOT MUCH TO CHOICE FROM ON THE BUFFET. MORE VEGGIES WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. DON'T KNOW IF I WOULD GO AGAIN ,TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET. WE ENJOYED THE BOAT RIDE AND WAITRESSES WERE REALLY NICE TO SERVE YOU IN EVERYTHING YOU NEED. HAD FUN BUT NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. We had a great time. The boat was so incredibly smooth, stable, and well piloted that the only way you would know that you were underway was to look out the window at the passing lights. The food was excellent, the drinks top drawer, and the DJ played the crowd to perfection. If you didn't have a good time you were probably dead.
