From pit road to prime seating, Pocono Raceway and Dover International Speedway are your ticket to drive or ride!
Whether you're new to the NASCAR racing world or are a long-time fan, the time is now to get in on the best stock car racing experiences in and around Philadelphia. Here's what to expect as you take to these renowned race car driving destinations!
Known among the driving world as the "Tricky Triangle," Pocono Raceway's unique shape adds a clever dynamic to race car driving of all levels. Making up its 2.5 miles of asphalt are three turns, each modeled after different tracks in the U.S.: Indianapolis Motor Speedway, The Milwaukee Mile, and (now retired) Trenton Speedway. Regardless of the Raceway's impressive length, it presents drivers a unique dynamic when it comes to speed and gear-shifting, thanks to the rather sharp turns and low banking of its tri-oval. And not to be out-done by its outer track, the Pocono Raceway also boasts three interior road courses on its infield as well!
Although referred to as the "Monster Mile," the Dover International Speedway actually offers a much more forgiving shape for NASCAR racing. Its concrete oval features a very tight but exhilarating one-mile loop, making for some competitive thrills on race days! While it has hosted a variety of open-wheel racing (like IndyCar), the track focuses primarily on stock car racing experiences and events today. That, in conjunction with its 'biggest' supporter/mascot, "Miles the Monster" (a towering, 46-foot monument), make it a sought-after destination for both the general public and the professional drivers of the NASCAR racing circuit.
