When Do I Choose A Date?

Either yourself or the lucky recipient can make a booking and select dates once you are in receipt of the voucher. You'll register the voucher, follow the booking instructions and your experience with us begins!

Important Details

Essential Information

Complimentary bottle of water and champagne toast provided (non-alcoholic alternatives available)
Must be at least 6 years of age or older to fly
Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
Passengers must be at least 48 inches tall to see over the basket
Passengers must be in good physical health and capable of standing for at least 2 hours unassisted and climbing in and out of the basket
Expectant mothers and individuals with heart conditions, back, hip, knee, and ankle problems and those prone to fainting spells or who have had recent surgery (within 6 months) are not permitted to fly

Duration

Approximately 3 hours total with about 45-60 minutes of actual flight time.

Spectators

Family and friends may watch the launch from the field. Seating is limited so it is advisable to bring your own chairs.

Weather Dependent

This experience is extremely weather dependent. Generally, a launch is not feasible when the wind exceeds 8 mph or if there are storms or low visibility within a 50-mile radius. Always contact the experience provider with any questions regarding weather conditions. Conditions are typically most favorable for May-October flights.

What To Wear

Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Long pants are recommended for all flights and layers are advised during winter flights (rather than one warm garment). No high heels, sandals or open toed shoes.

Can I help inflate the balloon?

Absolutely! It is encouraged for passengers to help with the inflation and deflation of the balloon. It is a huge part of the experience, after all!

Is it cold in the balloon?

Temperatures during your flight will not vary greatly from the temperature on the ground. As long as you dress appropriately for the weather, you will be plenty warm. Layers are recommended so you can adjust your temperature as needed.

When is the best time to fly?

Hot air balloon rides are extremely weather dependent. Typically, the best times to fly are just after sunrise or a few hours before sunset. Though flights are available year-round, the most favorable months are May-October.

How safe is ballooning?

Hot air ballooning is considered one of the safest forms of flying. The balloons comply with all FAA regulations and undergo frequent inspections. In fact, your provider is also a Certified Repair Station for hot air balloons - you can be sure the balloons are in top shape!

Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 30 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.
Exchanges
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs less, you'll have a credit towards your next booking with Virgin Experience Gifts.

Cancellation Policy

Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation all bookings are final. No refunds or exchanges are allowed once you have scheduled a date. If you need to reschedule, you have up until 72 hours prior to your reservation date/time to do so. Rescheduling will be subject to a $50 per person administrative fee. In the event your experience is canceled due to inclement weather you will reschedule your experience directly with your experience provider.
