When Do I Choose A Date?
If giving as a gift, your recipient can choose a date at their convenience; otherwise, you can choose one after checkout.

Daily - 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM

  • Must be 18 years old to fly without parental consent
  • Parental attendance required for children under 18
  • Maximum individual weight must be under 300 lbs
  • Maximum combined weight for all passengers must be under 550 lbs
  • Maximum height is 7’1”

Approximately 1 hour total with 45 minutes of flight time from engine start to stop.

Maximum Participants
This Learn to Fly experience is available for 1 student and up to 2 passengers so long as the maximum combined weight is under 550 lbs.

Spectators can watch from provided seating at the airport.

This experience is dependent on weather. Please contact your experience provider with any questions regarding weather conditions. In the event of inclement weather, your pilot will work with you to reschedule your experience.

Please wear comfortable and weather appropriate clothing that won’t impede the seatbelts.

Are there any age, weight, or height restrictions?

Participants must be at least 18 years old to fly without parental consent. Children under 18 may fly with a parent in attendance. The max individual weight must be under 300 lbs, max combined weight for all passengers must be under 550 lbs, and max height is 7’1”.

What type of airplane will I be flying?

You will be flying in well-known airplanes such as the top wing Cessna (or similar), which provides great scenic views below the airplane.

Is this experience handicap accessible?

There is limited accessibility, which is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please let Virgin Experience Gifts know of any special needs at the time of booking to see if accommodations can be made.

What can I expect on the flight?

You can expect to have a memorable time while experiencing an exciting sightseeing airplane tour over the Charlotte, NC metro area.

Returns
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 30 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.
Exchanges
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time.  If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs less, you'll have a credit towards your next booking with Virgin Experience Gifts.

Cancellation Policy

Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, rescheduling is allowed up to 72 hours prior to your experience, failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date may result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event your experience is canceled due to inclement weather you will reschedule your experience directly with your experience provider.
