What To Wear

Please dress appropriately for expected weather conditions and wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking throughout the tour.

How much food is served on the tour?

There are 3-4 stops on the tour where you will be served small specialty meals. For most people this is enough food to substitute a meal.

Are there any age requirements?

Yes, all participants must be at least 21 years old.

What types of food are served on the tour?

The types of food at the restaurants include German, high-end American, Pub style specialties and delicious desserts. Food tasting locations may change without notice.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please let Virgin Experience Gifts know if anyone in your group has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, etc.) when you book your experience. As long as the provider knows well enough in advance, accommodations can be made.

How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?

You are on your feet for approximately half of the tour, walking at a moderate pace. You will be seated at most restaurants for 15-20 minutes each. However, this is a walking tour so remember to wear comfortable shoes.

What about taking children on the tour?

Children are welcome on the tour. It should be noted, however, that the tour is 3.5 hours long. Some children have a limited attention span and therefore the tour may not be appropriate for some of them. Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation on a case by case basis. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child.

Are there any beverages served on the tour?

Each restaurant will serve water with each meal. There may be coffee or tea with dessert, and alcohol may be included at 1 or 2 stops. Any other beverage that guests wish to have will be a la carte.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

The tour does cover some uneven terrain and the restaurants visited can change from time to time. If you or another guest needs wheelchair access, please book your tour at least 3 weeks in advance and let us know at the time of booking so that accommodations can be made.

Do we just walk around and sample food?

Absolutely not! Aside from sampling delicious food, you will also experience life as we traverse the streets of the Mass Ave area in Indianapolis. The tour is fully narrated by your guide, who will discuss the history, culture, architecture and entertainment that Mass Ave has to offer.

What happens if it rains or snows?

The tours are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, you will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. You will not be outdoors for the entire tour, but you should still dress appropriately for the day's weather conditions.

Does the tour leader accept gratuities?

Yes, although it is not mandatory, guide gratuities are certainly appreciated.

Where does the tour finish?

The tour finishes within the same vicinity as where it starts. Additionally, each participant will receive specific direction details at the beginning of the tour in order to gain familiarity with the area.

Returns

Cancellation Policy

Once you have received a booking confirmation, all bookings are final. No cancellations or rescheduling requests will be allowed. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.
