Arrive at Monroe Harbor, just East of Lake Shore Drive, where you'll meet your Coast Guard licensed captain and receive an overview of the experience. There is no prior experience necessary, this sailing lesson is designed for novices and newcomers. The semi-private experience puts you in a group limited to 6 people, so each student can receive personal attention. The small class size allows the lesson to move at a manageable pace for each student. Once you're all gathered and prepared, you’ll set sail for a thrilling 3-hour sailing lesson.

This comprehensive sailing lesson combines demonstration with hands-on practice for the most effective learning experience. This sailing 101 course will cover such topics as basic sailing terminology, sailing operations, navigation rules, and basic boating safety. You’ll help unfurl and hoist the sails, tie key knots, and steer along the churning waters. Throughout the lesson, you'll be treated to spectacular views of the Chicago skyline. You'll see the iconic towers sparkling in the sunshine as you help sail through cool waters.
