Essential Information

Participants must be a minimum of 5'0'' and 100 lbs in order to participate, and a maximum of 6'7" and 300 lbs
Participants must be in good overall physical condition
A valid driver's license is required
Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent of legal guardian who must sign a consent form
Vehicles are manual transmission (stick shift), however the crew is happy to assist you if you need a little help
Pricing includes a $35 drivers fee that covers accidental insurance coverage, souvenir racing license and ear buds
Feel free to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
Some seating is provided, however, it is recommended to bring lawn chairs to guarantee a seat for any spectators

Weather Dependent

If we have inclement weather and have to cancel, you may either reschedule for another available date or be issued a gift card that you can use to reschedule at your convenience. A refund will not be issued due to rainouts.

What To Wear

Comfortable, casual clothes depending on the time of year as your clothing will be worn under a driving suit. Wear closed toe shoes, tennis shoes are recommended.

COVID-19 Safety

For this experience, our partners are taking extra measures to help prevent any potential spread of COVID-19. These measures include providing all drivers with a disposable head sock, disinfecting every steering wheel after every drive and commonly touched areas as well as providing soap in all bathrooms to wash your hands. All employees will be required to wash their hands frequently and utilize hand sanitizer often.

Upon check in for your experience, our partners will give a digital no touch temperature check and require all guests to wear a face covering at all times. The drivers meeting will be limited to only the participants but all spectators are welcome to remain outside for the experience. While at the track, our partners kindly request that all guests maintain social distancing and if you have any flu or cold-like symptoms to please reschedule your experience. These Covid-19 safety measures are subject to change.

FAQs

What is the age requirement?

Participants must have a valid drivers license and participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must sign a written consent form.

Are there any physical requirements or restrictions?

Participants must be a minimum of 5'0'' and 100 pounds in order to participate, a maximum of 6'7" and 280 lbs, and must also be in good overall physical condition. Participants will be required to climb through a 15'' x 30'' window, that sits 36'' off the ground (with minimal assistance).

Do I have to know how to drive a stick shift?

Yes, the cars you will be driving have a 4-speed racing transmission. However, if you need a little help getting going the professionals at the track will be glad to assist you.

Do I need a driver's license?

Yes, driving participants must have a valid (legal and not expired), government-issued driver's license (from any country).

Do I need to bring my own racing gear?

No, the racing school will provide you with racing gear, including a driving suit and helmet. If you have your own gear that you would like to use, you are welcome to bring it for possible use, but it will be subject to inspection and approval for use by the Track Operator. Gear will be available for you at the track, should you not be approved to use your own.

Can I choose which racecar I drive?

No, unfortunately the racing school cannot guarantee which exact cars will be at the track on a given date, nor can they promise the specific car a participant will be assigned to for his/her drive. Each participant is assigned to a car with careful consideration, based on individual height and weight.

What happens if I wreck the car?

The price includes a $35 fee for racing license and liability insurance. This releases you from all vehicle damage.

Is passing allowed?

Yes, if you come up on a slower race car, track personnel will assist you around the slower portion(s) of the group, using techniques and instructions covered in your pre-drive orientation session.

What does the typical day look like?

Following a 1-hour pre-drive orientation/training session with the racing school's Crew Chief and professional instructors, you'll drive a real Sprint Cup style stock car on a speedway for a timed session. Total drive-time will depend on the program purchased. For this experience, there is no lead car utilized and and no instructor in the car with you! You will have constant, 2-way communication with a professional racing instructor through a state-of-the-art, in-car racing electronics radio system. Upon completion, you'll receive a full-color, Graduate Certificate with your top speed proudly displayed on it.

What is the policy on rain-outs?

If your experience is canceled due to inclement weather, the driving school will contact you and either immediately reschedule you for another available date, or issue you a gift card valid for 1 year. A refund will not be issued due to rain-outs.

Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

Returns
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 30 days. All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.
Exchanges
Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference. If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs less, you'll have a credit towards your next booking with Virgin Experience Gifts.

Cancellation Policy

Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation all bookings are final. No refunds or exchanges are allowed once you have scheduled a date. If you need to reschedule, you have up until 30 days prior to your reservation to make changes for a $50 administrative fee. Once you are within 30 days of the event, you are then locked in to that date and time and no changes can be made.

Everything was great except one thing. The suits were hot, ok cant change that. However, we were told we’d have covering canopy outside. The first 6-7 students had covering the others in line stood in sun in already hot suit for a really really long time. Need a another canopy so Every student is out of the sun. Would been helpful to remind that sunglasses could be helpful too. Overall, well done! Thanks!

Most awesome experience I ever had. I did not believe they were actually going to let me drive a NASCAR around Atlanta Motor Speedway until I was strapped in the car. Everyone was ver nice and helpful.

I was looking forward to this since it was booked for me in December. When i got to the track to register they had no record of my booking which i found very embarrasing, i had to wait around for about an hour before they actually said i could drive. Then when i eventually got put in a car the radio wasnt working so they changed the radio out, then when i got out onto the track my tacometer wasnt working and the spotter was shouting at me through the radio to get to 4k revs but i was telling him the taco wasnt working so i had to abort the lap and come back into the pits where i was basically told off for going too fast and not listening to my radio, after i had explained that the taco wasnt working they changed me to another car and repeatedly asked me if i understood what i was doing, which made me feel incompetent even the fault was due to the previous car. I then completed and enjoyed my experience in the second car.

Right off the bat, I can understand any frustration upon arrival when there was no record of your booking. We appreciate you as a customer and that you took all of the necessary steps to book your experience - and the fault was certainly not yours! We are working diligently with the racing school to zero in on why your booking did not make its way into their records for the day. Although a wait is standard for this experience, we understand any frustration or feeling like your check-in was prolonged due to an error, which again was not on your part. Technology seemed to fail again when both the radio and tachometer were not working. Although this too, was a one-off - we can understand how that may have soured your experience even more at that point. Furthermore, to hear that anyone, regardless of if they are a customer or not, was made to feel incompetent, is also unacceptable and we do not stand for that. Rest assured that this is something that will be discussed and addressed. In addition to my apologies, I would like to sincerely thank you for giving your experience another try and taking a few laps in another NASCAR stock car. Although there are many areas for improvement during your experience, we appreciate that you enjoyed your experience in the end despite the hiccups. Although both Cloud 9 Living and the racing school can learn from this experience, we'd like to do more than that.
