As summer begins to fade, Alaska’s wilderness begins to change. Temperatures drop, green trees take on new colors, and sled dogs begin training for winter mushing. During this 1.5-hour adventure, you’ll get to experience the dog’s fall training firsthand!
Your incredible day will kick off when you hop aboard a side-by-side UTV. Without snow, this is the best way to get the pack trained up for the busy winter mushing season. You’ll feel a wave of excitement as the team of playful pups begin to pull you through the Alaska backcountry. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating facts about the dogs, mushing, and more.
Listen to the pitter patter of dog feet as you race past gorgeous landscapes. In early September, the trails are bright with fall colors. You'll be amazed as you pass by endless hues of gold, orange, and red! Keep an eye out for wildlife including moose, sage grouse, cranes, and so much more.
After approximately 45-55 minutes of mushing, you’ll warm up with a complimentary cup of cocoa. You’ll also have the opportunity to pose with a sled dog for a one-of-a-kind photo op!
